We work hard to improve our
resources, but the most important resourced of all
lie within ourselves, talents, and aptitudes.
Perhaps the most overlooked resource of all is our
children and young people. They will inherit
the work we do. Children and young people have
unbounded under-tapped energy and enthusiasm, and
are often idealistic. They are impatient to "grow"
and being given a way to express their concern
creatively, The young are eager to make a
"difference" in the world about them, to make their
"mark" upon it.
It is much easier to make a"
difference "destructively" than creatively
WE CAN HELP OUR
YOUNG PEOPLE TO CHOOSE THE HARDER, BUT MUCH MORE
REWARDING PATH BY LETTING THEM GET INVOLVED IN THE
DEMOCRATIC PROCESS AND BY ENCOURAGING THEM TO SPEAK
FREELY AND BE PART OF PEACE BUILDING, AND THE
CULTURE OF CIVILITY.
The future of our country depends
on the next generation of young Iraqis becoming
ready for university, work and life. Sadly, most of
our young people are reaching young adulthood
without the skill and competencies they need to
succeed. Unemployment is at the highest level. It
is our moral obligation to make sure all Iraqis have
the opportunity to succeed with higher skills and
education, The youth must provide the brainpower and
manpower to fuel our economy, fill our skilled jobs
renew our civil life and keep our country safe

WOMEN
LEADERSHIP IS NEEDED AT EVERY LEVEL OF DECISION
MAKING
Men and women are equal, yet
they are different. However, for the most part of
human history and our wretched present, this
difference has been understood as the inferiority of
females to males. This misconception has been
translated into religious, social values and laws
thus, in most lands, men and women are not equal
because they are different. A woman is inferior to
man in the sense that she does not set out to hunt,
conquer and subdue. She is not the warrior that
safeguards the tribe’s property and sets out to raid
those who are weaker. She is inferior in war and
violence, but superior in love, and peace. Nature
has blessed the female gender with motherhood; like
the earth, mothers carry life and it is their role
in society to nurture and nourish this new life.
However, the pain, sacrifice and wisdom that come
with this miracle have been left unappreciated and
scorned.
Women know that there is no wisdom in war and
violence but only pain, destruction and unnecessary
sacrifice. We will never know how different this
planet would have been, if the women was allowed to
contribute their natural wisdom to the course of
human history, a history of violence and pain.
We cannot reverse time, and all we have is the
present and hope for the future. Our weapons should
be tolerance, civility and love while we continue to
endure violence and repression. Our battlefields
should be minds of future generations, and the
letter of law.
With optimism and confidence, we call all the women
of this world to share our wisdom with our sons,
daughters, and grandchildren in the cause for a more
just, tolerant society and shiny future for all.
"The statement is sometimes made that the
franchise for women would be valuable only so far as
the educated women exercised it. This statement
totally disregards the fact those matters in which
women's judgment is most needed are far too
primitive and basic to be largely influenced by what
we call education."
